हळूहळू सुर्याची स्माईली आकाशात वर चढत होती... नऊ-साडेनऊची वेळ माझ्या प्रमुदित मनाला खुप सुखावत होती. खिडकीच्या सगळ्या काचा एका बाजूला ठेवून... आंत येणारे उन्हाचे कवडसे अंगावर घेत असताना, किशोरकुमारांचा नटखट आवाज.. मला मस्तपणे झुलवत होता. आजूबाजूला पक्षी किलबिलाट करत होती... अशामध्ये दुर अंतराहुन... कानावर एक आवाज येऊ लागला.... वेगळाच भासत होता तो! ती आरोळी वेगळी होती. कान अधिक टवकारले. "नार..अय..मिनी ssss".... मी माझे कान त्यादिशेने उंचावले व अंदाज घेवू लागलो. "ए...नार द...मूनी ssss" पुन्हा तसाच आवाज...! अरे...आवाज तर मी बरोबर ऐकतोय ना याची खात्री केली. "नार...द मनी ssss"...हे काय ओरडत आहे तो ..विक्री साठी.?... काय आणि कसा असेल तो.!! अशा विचारांनी मन चक्रावले. पण क्षणातच सर्व काही.... अगदी सर्व व्यवस्थित स्पष्ट झाले. तो माझ्या खिडकी समोर आला ... एक पोरकट फेरीवाला.. त्याच्या दाक्षिणात्य सुरांमध्ये ओरडत होता, "नारळपाणीssss नारळपाणीssss !!!"

The cheerful smiley of the sun was rising majestically in the sky... at just nine or half past nine...my merriful mind was being soothed with the jocandity of silence. Pushing the glasses at one corner, I was enjoying, sun-rays coming in through the window, Kishorkumar's naughty voice was making me to sway. With birds' chirping around, ... another sound, I heard... eccentric to ears from a distance .... it's somewhat queer sound. The ears aroused much. "Nar..ad..mini.." I raised ears in that direction and started guessing. "A... "Nar.. ay...muni ..." again the same sound..! Oh ... I confirmed it twice..,I heard the sound right. "Narad mini..." what is he shouting..for sale.? ... what and how would it be!! Such thoughts made my mind wander. But in a short time everything became clear.He came in front of window.  a young peddler.... shouting in his typical southern tone "Naryal..pani (Coconut water) !!!"
