On a spooky moment of the darkest night, he woke up terrifyingly with sweaty forehead. Eccentric but it was not new to him. In a zippy, he recalled all. Today he read his favourite diary. The day he would open his old diary, the same night, all of a sudden, a few pages of the diary would automatically flip up to the page until the old meshed "Peepalleaf" was kept and would stop right there. He knew the"leaf" was very special. Thirty years ago, when he was sitting on a large rock under that tree, a "peepal leaf" fluttered down and set at rest in his diary. Ever since then that leaf wanted to talk to him. He could hear it's voice. Utterly horrrrified, he still does not understand the language of that leaf. Interestingly, many times he went and sat on that rock under the tree... but no peepal-leaf ever fluttered down again.... even in dream too...!!

काळ्याकभिन्न रात्री धडकी भरवणा-या एका क्षणी घामाने डबडबलेल्या कपाळासह अचानक तो जागा झाला. विचित्र पण त्याच्यासाठी हे नवीन नव्हते. यथावकाश त्याला सर्व काही आठवले. आज त्याने आवडती डायरी वाचली होती. ज्यादिवशी तो आपली जुनी डायरी उघडत असे, त्याच रात्री अचानक  डायरीची काही पाने, त्या जिर्ण जाळीदार पिंपळपान असलेल्या पानापर्यंत आपोआप उलटत जायची आणि बरोबर त्याच पानावर थांबायची. त्याला माहित होते ते  "पान" त्याच्यासाठी खुपच विशेष आहे. तीस वर्षांपूर्वी एकदा तो त्या झाडाखाली मोठ्या दगडावर बसला होता, तेव्हा एक पिंपळपान फडफडत खाली आले आणि त्याच्या डायरीत विसावले. तेव्हा पासून ते पान त्यांच्याशी बोलू पाहायचे. पानाचा आवाज त्याला ऐकू यायचा. मनातुन तो खुप घाबरायचा. पण त्या पानाची भाषा त्याला आजपर्यंत उमगली नाही. विशेष म्हणजे कितीतरी वेळा तो झाडाखालच्या दगडावर पुन्हा पुन्हा जावून बसायचा...पण तदनंतर पिंपळपान कधीही त्याच्याकडे आले नाही.. अगदी स्वप्नात सुध्दा....!!
