आज त्याला शोधून काढण्याचा तिने जणू विडाच उचलला होता. तो कुठे असेल याचा अविरत शोध चालू होता. "त्याच्या"शिवाय पाण्याचा थेंबही न घेण्याचा अट्टाहास मात्र तिच्यासाठी अग्निपरीक्षा ठरला. सगळीकडे शोधून झालं पण तो काही सापडत नव्हता. म्हणतात ना, "प्राणप्रिय गोष्टी नेहमी अतिसुरक्षित ठिकाणी ठेवलेल्या असतात".आता शोधमोहीम आणखी तीव्र झाली आणि पुढच्याच क्षणाला ह्दय हलवून टाकणा-या आवाजात, ती अत्यानंदाने बेभान होत किंचाळली. समुद्रमंथनातून केवळ अमृतच मिळावं..तसा आनंद तिच्या चेहऱ्यावर झळकला. ब-याच वर्षानंतर तिला हवा असलेला "तो" मनपसंत... सालस..षोडस-वर्षीय छबीचा, ती मोहक अदा व ठळक शिक्का मारलेला दहावी-परिक्षेच्या हाॅल टिकीटवरील स्वतःचा पहिलावहिला "फोटो" आणि आपल्या मुलीचा दहावी-हाॅल टिकीटसह फोटो ...आता दोन्हीही तिच्या हातात होते.

She vouched utterly to find "it" today. The constant search was on to find "its" whereabout. The insistence on not taking even a drop of water without "it" was an acid test for her. Searched almost everywhere but couldn't find. As the saying goes, "Most loving things are always kept at the safest place". Now the search had been intensified, and at very next moment, in a heart-pounding voice, she screamed in extended ecstasy. As if she has obtained only the nectar in the mammoth churning of the sea .. such happiness was seen on her face. After many years, as she wished for her favourite ... innocent ... sixteen-year old  charming face with the official blunt seal...on std 10ths examination  hall ticket. Now she had two hall tickets in her hand..her  own and dear daughter's too.
